Oyster 35 Mariner - 25 years on.

After 25 years of blue water cruising the owners of this remarkable Oyster Mariner 35 have decided the time has come to hang up the deck shoes and have trusted Boatshed Costa Brava with her sale.

She was originally built in 1980 and the current owners have owned her since 1987. In 2004 she was modified with a reverse transom / sugar scoop increasing her length to 37'8", providing an excellent swim platform, additional stowage, longer waterline and improved aesthetics. Designed by Holman & Pye she is one of only a few of approximately 20 built that is sloop rigged instead of the usual ketch and has been fitted with many upgrades and additions over the years. The fibreglass hardtop to replace the canvas sprayhood for example.

The original engine and saildrive was replaced in 2005 with a Volvo Penta D1-30 29hp and the whole boat has been maintained to a high standard.

This quality yacht from Oyster was strongly built and has served the current owners very well keeping them safe taking heavy sea in her stride on many ocean crossings including extensive Mediterranean cruising, four trans Atlantic crossings, south to Venezuela, north to Canada and the Great Lakes where she was kept for 18 years sailing in fresh water.

She has a high internal volume for her size and gives the feeling of being a much larger vessel with her comfortable and practical layout providing the new owners with excellent blue water cruising, live aboard or coastal cruising options.

It was a pleasure to meet the current owners onboard and hear some of the exciting tales of their travels and we have promised them to find her a good new home where she will be ready for her next adventure.
