Hot riveted hull which was found to be good in a 2006 survey when she was slipped. The hull has been plated in two places. The hull interior has been coated with tar, then a hard grease. Onto this is fixed a 30 mm fire proof insulation board which is foil backed foam. This is then covered with 4 mm ply and oak veneered to give the final interior finish.
The headlining is also insulated with the foam and tongue and grooved panelled.
The floor is French oak wide boards.
Access to all necessary components has been well thought out.
There is a holding tank and a grey water holding tank.
The complete interior re-fit was undertaken from 2006 and is very nearly complete. The companionway door requires fitting and trimming and the cockpit helm seating requires finishing and this work is being undertaken now.
Then it is a case of hull painting and handrail varnishing, again, this is being undertaken now.

Broker's Comments
This lovely old Tjalk is a bit of a Jeckell & Hyde. At first look, the immediate thought is she could do with a lick of paint and some varnish on her hand rails. But with the awful Summer and it being end of season, the job hasn't been done yet. It will, however, be completed.
But go below and the contrast is stunning. and it feels more like a very comfortable London club. She has been beautifully fitted out and by the look of things, the quality is not just skin deep. Lots of leather, polished oak, quality furniture and oodles of space.
And you'll not be cold as the heating system fires up in a flash, warming the radiators.
She has never been intended to be a multiple berth barge but a very spacious accommodation for a couple or a bachelor pad with room for a friend to stay. A further cabin could easily be fitted, as there is space aplenty.
She would be absolutely perfect in London.
She is very capable of motoring away but would need some instruments. So, getting her to London or taking down through the French Canals should be quite straight forward. Or she can, by negotiation, stay on her berth in a very quite and beautiful part of Cornwall, just outside Falmouth.
Very much worth a trip down to see this beauty.
