Total LOA from swimdeck to anchor 40' 8".

Retractable radar mast – minimum bridge clearance less than 13’.

Heavy hand-laid fiberglass hull construction. Vinylester resins used in the outer layers to help prevent blistering. Integral grid structure is designed to provide a very sturdy hull with little flexing,

All handrails are of double-rung design for safety, and are welded and beautifully polished.

FRP fuel and holding tanks. Stainless steel water tanks.

The original owner wanted plenty of black water storage so he had the factory add a second 45 gal. holding tank at the forward end of the engine room providing a total of 90 gallons of capacity.

This is a semi-displacement underbody hull design which allows it to exceed hull speed up to 13 knots with the 380 HP engine.

The galley size was increased when originally built at the factory to provide more counter space.

The vessel came from the factory with built-in ducting for future installation of air conditioning, if desired.

Bottom paint and PropSpeed May 2024.

Waterline Boats / Boatshed does not independently verify capacities and measures, which are reported from seller-provided information and/or literature.

Boarding astern is from a large swim platform though the transom door. The covered cockpit is large enough for several deck chairs. The sturdily-built wide sliding aft cabin door provides entry to the full-beam salon, which is much larger than would be expected in a boat this size. The galley is forward starboard and features granite countertops, overhead fold-down storage cabinets, a propane range, and a deep-basin sink. There's a comfortable reclining chair aft starboard. To port is the convertible L-shaped dinette with sleeping for two, a storage cabinet and the entertainment center. Just forward and down is the day head -- complete with shower capability. There is a low door into the engineroom here also, providing access in addition to the salon and pilothouse floor hatches.

The pilothouse is just two steps up from the salon and is not isolated as on many other pilothouse models. The L-shaped dinette allows three or four guests to enjoy the pilothouse while underway. The dinette converts to a single pilot berth. The helm station is to starboard, and features a sliding helm seat with a moveable bolster for leaning if desired. Forward visibility from the helm station is excellent, and because of the low pilothouse design it's possible to view the aft quarters directly from the helm seat also (unusual in a pilothouse model). Sliding pilothouse doors port and starboard allow easy access to the dock, the foredeck or to the flybridge.

Footwells with high bulwarks provide security when exiting the pilothouse, and the wide, full-size steps to the flybridge make access safe and easy. There are no vertical ladders on this boat!

The cabin has a queen bed, hanging lockers port and starboard, six storage drawers, two storage cabinets, and separate head and shower compartments -- a nice feature that wins praise.

The flybridge has a pedestal helm seat and L-shaped settee. As with the entire exterior of the boat, the design of the flybridge is uncluttered and obviously intended to be simple to maintain and easy to clean.

Cabin heat is provided by an Espar Airtronic D5 diesel-fired forced air furnace. And for fresh air this boat has nine opening windows (including an opening windshield window), five opening stainless steel portlights, and two overhead hatches.

Lighting has been converted to LED throughout.

The floors, upholstery, and headliner are in very nice condition. Overall the varnished joinery is also in beautiful condition. There is wood staining on the marine plywood bulkead above the dayhead door and in the aft port corner of the pilothouse -- see photos. This was caused by a top deck water leak which has been repaired. The seller has scheduled a wood refinisher to address this appearance issue and will pay that cost.

Commentaires du Broker

U.S. import duties paid.

Originally imported and sold as a Mariner Yachts International 37 Seville Pilothouse, this model is the predecessor to the successor Helmsman Trawlers 38 Pilothouse and is dimensionally equal.

With an additional alternator with Balmar regulator, a large AGM house bank, propane galley stove and NextGen 3.5 kw generator you can spend nights on the hook and not worry about electrical power or hot water.

The davit crane and a Walker Bay dinghy with 20 HP Honda provide reliable shore boat operations.

The current owners have had it for 10 years and have cared well for her. She has been regularly and professionally serviced -- engine maintenance records are available. Hours are low at about 1300.

This boat gives the impression of being much larger than its size implies with a very roomy interior and a design that includes a full-beam saloon, a day head, separate master head and shower compartments, and an extended pilothouse that actually serves as a comfortable living area in addition to its piloting function.

The quality of materials and construction are evident with teak and holly floors, beautiful teak joinery, heavy fittings and rails, sturdy deck sections, and thick engine compartment sound insulation.

You'd be hard-pressed to fit more boat into a 40' slip -- and with her Cummins QSB5.9-380 hp engine she performs frugally at 7 or 8 knots, and has the power to hunker down for steadying against a following sea or to add several knots of top end speed when needed.

Compare this boat to a Nordic Tug 37 or 39, or to an American Tug 34, 365, or 395. You'll find the Helmsman is roomier, has a more finely-crafted interior, and was built to a very high standard.
