Rival Rose was bought by the previous owners in (approx) 1998. They began a restoration project, taking the boat out of the water in Vilamoura Marina, Portugal and giving her an osmosis treatment. She was therefore completely stripped internally and numerous new fixtures and fittings were purchased, including a new engine. However, due to personal reasons the owners never put her back together again. The current owner purchased her in June 2006 with a plan to primarily get her sailing again, envisaging trips in Mediterranean waters. She was re-launched in September 2006. However, pets and seasick children have put paid to anything more than day sails along the Portuguese coast.

It was originally built in 1973 hull no 41 and has wonderful lines, notice in particular the upward protruding bow, which is a signature of this design.
It has two cabins/two double berths a galley comprising /sink and fridge opposite sits the Navigation table below the companionway starboard side.
Some of the 2005 instalments include Anderson winches/ Yanmar 3GM 30hp Diesel Engine, also Stainless Standing Rigging.
