Arno Day is legendary as a fourth-generation builder of classic lobsterboats in the state of Maine, USA. This boat underwent a total refit in 2013, forty years after initial construction. The materials used in the hull include:
- 1 3/8" carvel planked mahogany hull;
- 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" sawn hardwood beams;
- Fiberglass over marine plywood decking;
- 1 3/8" x 2 1/2" oak framing;
- Silicon bronze fasteners;
- 1 3/4" hardwood floors on 13" centers;
- 3 3/4" x 1 3/4" sheer clamp
The design is a heavy displacement wooden hull with a deep draft for excellent seakeeping ability and tracking.
Waterline Boats / Boatshed did not independently verify capacities and dimensions, which are reported from seller-provided information and/or literature.

Broker's Comments
This Classic Pilothouse Trawler is a fine example of American boatbuilding from the legendary Arno Day Boatyard of Maine. You will find it today in excellent "Bristol-quality" condition inside and out.
This vessel underwent a total refit in 2013 to bring the boat up to modern standards, providing a promising future for the next owner and offering many more years of cruising the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Here is a summary of what was done: new Lugger engine, all new electrical and plumbing, new tankage, glazing, heating, electronics, dinghy, and new dinghy lift system.
Powered by a single Lugger 120 HP diesel known for fuel economy and reliably. Arno Day's lobsterboat designs are specialized and they make a lot of sense for use in our Pacific Northwest waters. As workboats the hulls are designed for seaworthiness and stability.
What makes this boat ideal for our waters is the pilothouse design. These yachts typically are "picnic boat" designs with the helm open to the cockpit and intended for hot Northeast summer cruising. But here, in the PNW, you can operate comfortably year-round in this pilothouse cruiser. The helm is enclosed, the interior is heated with a modern hydronic diesel boiler system and the layout is great for a cruising couple. Forward, the master stateroom offers beautiful accommodations with a traditional look. The marine head compartment with hand-held shower is conveniently in this space.
The pilothouse is large and equipped with current navigation systems and electronics. It features expansive seating with great views of the water outside. The seating can easily provide additional berthing when required.
The aft cabin space is designed with a modern galley and large dinette table along with additional seating and a large door to the aft cockpit - another nice space for entertaining.
Arno Day Classics like this one are a rare find in any harbor. This restored classic motor yacht presents a true ownership opportunity today for a knowledgeable buyer here in the Pacific Northwest.
