Classic mahogany over oak frames. Totally restored in 2000 using original hull planks with West System epoxy. Oct.2009 installed new frames, one stringer, new West System bottom. Complete stripping and refinish of decks, new hull side varnish.
After the Great Depression builder Bill Nollenberger started building Mahogany Runabouts to lift people's spirits. He accomplished just that by competing very well with the East Coast Giants. The Mercury Twin Cockpit Forward was the premier runabout built in 1939, this boat is one of ten built in that model year. This freshly varnished mahogany runabout is a real head turner on the lake. The upholstery and floor covering is exactly the color and type popular in 1939. The boat has original "Mercury" step pads, lifting eyes, and windshield hardware. This boat flies, but still looks antique, a real "sleeper".
